GNOME A few hours ago, he published a new note with news from his circle, this time from March 28th to April 4th. Among the content mentioned, a large part of the content is new versions of applications, but also of a mobile graphical environment: Phosh. PHOne Shell is, for many, as they await the official proposal to gain momentum, the quintessential GNOME Mobile, but let's take it step by step.
As for things that aren't applications or the aforementioned Phosh, a 19-year-old race condition in GLib, specifically in GClosure, has been fixed. The following is the list of the news from the last week.
This week in GNOME
- trimmer v25.03 has moved the cut options from the save dialog to the main interface. This makes it easier to see and allows for inline feedback.
- Identity v25.03 has arrived with minor visual tweaks for GNOME 48: it now uses a toggle for changing view modes in the main menu.
- Amberol 2025.1 has updated dependencies to use the GNOME 48 runtime, in addition to the new version of Lofty, the library. This update should also fix several recent issues with malformed fields within MP3 files.
- Resources 1.8 has been released, which includes support for new hardware, such as the Raspberry Pi GPU, and quality-of-life changes, such as search type. Additionally, it can now display the link type and speed of GPUs, drives, and network interfaces, as well as combined memory and swap usage in the Apps and Processes views in a new column. Finally, Resources is now built using the new GNOME 48 runtime, showing off its sleek new colors when using its dark theme.
- New app available: Learn 6502. Provides a complete learning environment for the 6502 assembly programming language.
- Iconic v2025.3.2 is now available. Iconic is an app that lets you add images to folders, helping you better differentiate between them. It also supports changing icons based on the system accent color, which makes it look great in combination with Adwaita-colors.
- New version of Turn On, which now finds web interfaces on devices and links them to the interface.
- Phosh 0.46.0 It is now available- Now lets you set a lock screen wallpaper, automatically closes status pages when you close the top panel, and displays a spinner when refreshing the Wi-Fi network list in Quick Settings. There's better notch support for devices with, for example, a camera in the indicator area, and you can now also adjust the maximum intensity of haptic feedback (and disable it entirely).
And that's been it for this week at GNOME.
