This week's news in KDE It's been fairly quiet. His article covers many points that will improve the user interface, tweaks we'll start seeing around the middle of the year with Plasma 6.7. The latest version of the desktop is... 6.6.3This is the third maintenance update in the series that was released in February of this year. Other changes will arrive in Frameworks 6.25, but these are not as noticeable.
What follows is the list with this week's newsThey've also fixed bugs, but we won't include those here. Anyone wanting to see them will have to visit the original article, which we'll link to at the end of this one.
KDE interface improvements
- Breeze-themed menu items across the KDE software ecosystem now visually change when clicked.
- Several pop-up aids in Plasma now follow the style of the active theme as expected.
- Mouse Marks effect support for touchscreens has been improved: multiple lines can now be drawn at once if the screen supports multi-touch.
- Syncing settings with the Plasma login manager now includes the current set of keyboard layouts.
- The interface of the QR code page in the clipboard widget has been simplified: the copy button is now in the header instead of being on its own row.
- The feature that forced the task manager and system tray to use large icon spacing and size in touch or tablet mode has been removed, as it was not working correctly and was causing unsolvable sizing errors.
- The accuracy of widget positioning on the desktop has been improved: when dragging a widget to a place where it doesn't fit, its preview rectangle is now displayed in the nearest position where it does fit.
- Discover now uses consistent terminology when requesting a restart.
Framework 6.25
- Attempting to paste when the clipboard is empty now fails silently instead of displaying a notification.
