The same thing we did and we've done it again on GNOME, we did and we are going to do it again about KDE: talk about the news that has come out in the last week. But there have been changes in KDE: Nate Graham, who was in charge of publishing everything that was being prepared, decided to change “this week in KDE” to “this week in Plasma”. In other words, information about desktop and applications is now published separately.
Of the new features, everything that is to come in the form of a function will arrive in plasma 6.4 and in KDE Frameworks 6.11. On the other hand, the time is being used to correct bugs, a section that we will not cover in this new stage in order to make the articles shorter and more enjoyable to read.
News coming to KDE
plasma 6.4
- There is now an option to make panel popups use the floating style even if the panel itself does not use that style.
- The appearance of the Welcome Center page that appears after upgrading to a new version of Plasma has been improved.
- The Information Center power graph now uses the system accent color, instead of always being red.
- When using software-based display brightness, the minimum brightness level is now significantly darker.
- Improved keyboard navigation for the Kate Sessions widget in multiple ways.
KDE Framework 6.11
- In the open/save dialogs used throughout KDE software, changes to the text in the filename field can now be undone, and the text field itself displays a small undo button. This is especially useful if you misclick on a file while saving and accidentally overwrite the filename; you can now quickly undo this by clicking the button or pressing Ctrl+Z.
The rest of the new features would be covered by the bug fixes section. In numbers, A total of 91 bugs have been fixedFor a detailed list, please refer to Nate Graham's blog.
Plasma 6.3 is expected to arrive next Tuesday, 6.4 on June 17th, and Frameworks 6.11 on February 14th.
