KDE introduces color codes to KRunner among this week's new features

KDE Plasma 6.3, bug fixes

It's time to find out about the latest developments you've been working on. KDE. More specifically, what they are preparing and fixing on their desktop, Plasma. In addition to fixing many bugs, which anyone who wants to know about should visit some of the links that we will provide later, they are working on improving the plasma 6.3 Available since February, they are already looking to the future and presenting the new features that will arrive in Plasma 6.4.

Among these novelties, KRunner has learned to identify colorsI don't know if it will be very useful, but, for example, if we put #000000 it will produce a white circle and it will also give us the RGB equivalent. You can find this and other new features after the cut.

What's new in KDE Plasma 6.4

  • KRunner is now aware of several types of color codes, and can display the color and other textual representations of it.

  • The Disks and Devices widget now checks newly connected disks for file system errors and offers to automatically fix any it finds.
  • Spectacle has received a major overhaul of its user interface. It now defaults to the rectangular Region overlay (this is configurable, of course), allowing you to drag a box to capture an area or immediately capture the entire screen, annotate on anything, and choose any other type of screenshot or recording.
  • After considering a lot of feedback, it is once again possible to hide audio player indicators in Task Manager tasks. Additionally, the same can be done for audio controls in individual task tooltips. In short, it is now even easier than before to customize the tooltip UI to suit your preferences and purposes.
  • The About This System page of the System Information Center and Preferences now reports system memory more accurately, showing both the physical amount and the amount that is actually usable, and offering information about why the numbers might differ.

  • The color picker on the Colors page of System Preferences returns to using the nicer color picker it used before.
  • Several pieces of text on the Display & Monitor page of System Preferences are now localized and use more elegant fonts.
