There are some Ubuntu flavor releases that taste less good than others. Last October, we decided to publish the article on the cinnamon-flavored version and those on other versions in one that encompassed all three, but for good reason: they'd done little more than catch up with the base packages. That's something that hasn't happened this year, or at least not with Ubuntu Cinnamon 25.04.
In 24.10, the desktop version they used was v6.0.4, which if I remember correctly was the same one they had used six months earlier. The Ubuntu Cinnamon 25.04 release notes already we have which has switched to Cinnamon 6.4.8, which is a jump of two series, plus the addition of knitted versions that add stability. Therefore, I think it's an interesting release for those who opt for the cinnamon version.
Highlights of Ubuntu Cinnamon 25.04
- Launch of normal, provisional or cycle interim, which means it will be supported for 9 months, until January 2026.

- Cinnamon Control Center 6.4.1, Cinnamon Screensaver 6.4.0 — lock screen can be delayed in 5 or 10 second increments –, Cinnamon Settings Daemon 6.4.2 — new audio device selection dialog.
