So knowing the latest version, the old versions will be easy for you.

First of all, what we have to do is a backup of all our files: documents, images, videos, audios, browser bookmarks, emails, etc ... Our idea is to replace Windows XP by Lubuntu, so we will erase everything first and then install Lubuntu to use it as the main operating system.

Once we have made the backup we will need the installation disc. The most modern equipment allows an installation from a usbHowever, older computers need a physical disk, a DVD, or a CD-ROM. To make the installation disc we go to this link and download the Lubuntu iso image. Once we have the disk image we record it on a disk. Once we have the disc burned and the backup of our files, we go to the Bios and change the boot sequence so that instead of loading the hard disk, it loads the cd-rom first.

For me, the best thing is that it asks us for the user's password, not only does it allow us to remember that password, but the system is more secure. By the way, do not forget the password, it is very important since it will be requested to perform the most important operations of the system. Now the system will start to install and copy the Lubuntu 14.04 files.
