Last week, during the UbuCon Summit 2016, developer Didier Rocher announced a new version of Ubuntu Make and from what he announced, great news is in store for the new version 16.01.2 of Ubuntu Make.
Among the most important novelties of this new version, stands out the Eclipse support to PHP and C ++, and the ability to install Swift, a new programming language for Apple, which is also Open Source.
If you are not very familiar with Ubuntu Make, or you don't know what it is, Ubuntu Make is a program that isrun in command console and that serves to install programs in a simple and fast way. If you don't have it installed yet, you can do it by running the following commands in the terminal:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa: ubuntu-desktop / ubuntu-makesudo apt updatesudo apt install ubuntu-make
Galileo Startor, has implemented the Swift support, which can now be easily installed by Ubuntu Make through the command:
u make swift
Also, as we said, this new version of Ubuntu Make has brought with it more news and Startor's contributions have not stopped there. This developer has also been in charge of the C ++ and PHP support in Eclipse, as well as Evan McIntire has implemented the page support Mon generated through the option -help, which will now be fully updated for each program that we install.
In Ubunlog we usually talk a lot about this tool, so if you want to take a look at the entries we have already written about Ubuntu Make. In them you can see how to install IDE's like Android Studio, Netbeans or Visual Studio Code, and also how to get support for Go, Unity 3D, or Arduino. All these entries you can see them in this link.
We hope you liked the news in the new version of this useful tool that increasingly supports more and more languages. Until next time.

The make only helps you to install apps as in this case it is swift
Mate and Cinmamon are the desks for the next 5 years. Too bad Ubuntu bet on another horse.
