Media server, some good options for our Ubuntu

about media server

In the next article we are going to take a look at some other media servers that we have not seen on this blog yet. It must be said that a media server is simply a specialized file server or a system for storing media (digital videos / movies, audio / music and pictures) that can be accessed over a network.

To configure a media server, we will need the hardware of our equipment (or perhaps a server in the cloud), as well as software that allows us to organize our multimedia files. This will make it easier to transmit and / or share with friends and family.

In this article, we are going to add some more media servers to the ones we have already seen in this blog. Some of them (perhaps the best known) are Kodi, plex, Subsonic o Gerbera, but these are not the only ones that can adapt to our needs or resources.
