A few days ago it was made public the NextCloud Box solution, a hardware box that will allow us to have our own and personal cloud that is powered by Ubuntu and other famous technologies such as Western Digital hard drives or Raspberry Pi hardware.
This hardware is based on NextCloud, a software that was presented as a safe and stable alternative to ownCloud, something that became very interesting for many users who wanted to have Ubuntu and ownCloud performance.
NextCloud Box is an interesting alternative to having a personal cloud and no less powerful than the existing cloud solutions. But above all, nextCloud Box is a solution for users with no time for hardware purchases and configurations.
NextCloud Box is a hardware solution for users who do not have much time to create their own cloud
So in the box we find everything we need to turn on and have our personal cloud ready. While for other systems, we would have to gather the components on the one hand and once they are assembled, on the other hand we would have to make the relevant configurations and software installation which is often more tedious than difficult in many cases.
NextCloud Box is composed of a Western Digital 1Tb hard drive, a Raspberry Pi 2 board and a power supply. All of this works with Snappy Ubuntu Core and NextCloud, which means that once on we have a personal and own mini cloud. The price of this NextCloud Box is $70, a very interesting price if we consider the price of the components separately. On the other hand, it is also a quick solution, although if we want to have a powerful solution, the solution is still to buy a powerful computer to install Ubuntu Server and NextCloud or any other Cloud software, but that has a higher price.
