As expected, KDE launched us plasma 5.27.2, the second maintenance update of the latest version of Plasma 5. It is an LTS version, so it will be supported for a longer time, but what we perhaps did not expect was that so many bugs were fixed in a series that was said to be everything. it looked very good. And no, it's not like people have been complaining or there's any news that Plasma 5.27 is a disaster, but the list of bug fixes is sobering.
Thinking well, they are simply improving what had already arrived well. Thinking wrong, Plasma 5.27 didn't arrive in good shape, and now they are fixing the bugs. Either way, the good news is that the fixes are coming, and the following is a list of some of the new arrivals that have arrived with Plasma 5.27.2.
Some new features of Plasma 5.27.2
- When setting up a new Plasma system, applications that are pinned to the Task Manager by default in Plasma (Discover, System Settings, Dolphin, and a web browser), but are not installed by default on the operating system you are using, now they will simply be ignored, instead of staying visible with a broken icon and doing nothing when clicked.
- Fixed a recent regression that caused line artifacts to appear around panels when using a fractional scale factor in the Plasma Wayland session.
- Fixed a case where KWin could crash in the Plasma Wayland session while playing a video in VLC.
- Fixed a case where KWin could crash when exiting a Plasma Wayland session and leave you hanging.
- When using the recent version 1.8.11 or later of the fwupd library, Discover will now always start correctly.

- Fixed a recent major regression in how Aurorae window themes were drawn in the Plasma Wayland session.
- Fixed a semi-recent regression in the Plasma Wayland session that allowed the cursor to briefly go 1 pixel beyond the screen at the bottom and right edges of the screen, somewhat breaking Fitts Law and causing items to Hover-activated UI icons at the edges of the screen will blink.
- Fixed an issue in the Plasma Wayland session where the size of the desktop was slightly incorrectly calculated when using a fractional scaling factor, causing multiple one-pixel visual and functional glitches all over the place.

- The semi-new QML version of the Windows Present effect now works correctly with the keyboard when called in its mode that only shows the windows of a specific app, no longer allowing to invisibly focus windows of other apps as well.
- When using a fractional scale factor in the Plasma Wayland session, the cursor now displays correctly in applications using XWayland.
- Multi-display arrays consisting of displays from the same vendor that differ only by the last character of their serial numbers (imagine a large company buying monitors in bulk) will no longer be mixed up on login.
plasma 5.27.2 available for a few moments, and soon the new packages should arrive for KDE neon, KDE's own system with which they don't have to obey anyone's orders (as Kubuntu does). Last week, KDE neon announced its availability before KDE Plasma's. 5.27.1, only as detail. Later it should arrive at the KDE backports repository and the rest of the distributions, whose arrival will depend on the philosophy of the different projects.
